Roshawn Buxton, a native of Compton, California
and the owner of N Motion Dance Studio, located in
Riverdale, Georgia, where "movement is contagious".
Roshawn relocated to Atlanta in 1992 and on New Years
Day of 1993 was in a very serious car accident where
she sustained a broken neck. One year later, while
driving, Roshawn's car was struck by a tractor trailer.
Roshawn ruptured two discs in her back. Doctors told
her that she should never dance again and she should
not have any more children. Despite these trials
Roshawn's passion for dance didn't falter. After much
rehabilitation and physical therapy she began teaching
dance at a local recreation center, and also directed a
couple of fashion shows.
In 1999, she opened the doors to the N Motion Dance
Company. N Motion Dance offers classes in Ballet, Tap,
Jazz, Hip Hop, Praise, African dance and more to
students ages three to adult. N Motion’s Mission is to
enhance the natural ability of dance in children through
songs, music, and games and to provide quality dance
education in a positive, productive, and exciting
atmosphere. N Motion’s award winning dance team was
honored at the Art of Dance Award Ceremony 2007
presented by the Atlanta Child Care Guide, performed at
the Festival of Trees, the Taste of Riverdale, For Sisters
Only, the Gospel Explosion, Bronner Brothers Hair
Show, AAU Jr. Olympics, and much more.
